INFINITE ENERGY HACK
hosted by Whereabouts
sangheeut and lower_cavity are proud to present Infinite Energy Hack, an off-site collaboration by sculptor Eugene Jung and sound artist Ben Shirken. At the project’s center is the sustainability-driven EcoTech startup Infinite Energy Solutions (IES), founded by Jung and Shirken as a speculative container for their inquiry into emergent relationships between humanity, technology, and the environment. Headquartered in a reclaimed industrial site in Harlem’s Factory District and Innovation Triangle, IES is committed not only to researching actionable solutions for the production of limitless energy, but to actively embedding them within real-world operations.
“At IES, our goal is to understand the true nature of energy. We are building maximally truth-seeking conversion systems to accelerate discovery into transformation. The universe is mostly energy. We consider that a hint: understand the loop; then close it.”
Eugene Jung & Ben Shirken mine the zone between hidden real-world systems and their collapse, building installations that expose the networks quietly reprogramming contemporary life. Jung builds speculative, post-apocalyptic landscapes revealing how urban development, capital, and technology operate unseen. Shirken fuses sound, sculpture, and spatial design to probe how tools of communication and production rewire our relationship to the present.
